I'm the president of our local swim team, and my husband is the assisant coach.  We love swimming because it provides kids with the opportunity to be a part of a team while also being recognized as an individual.  Swimming is a lifetime sport, and while very fun, it also requires a lot of time, dedication, and money from all involved.  We know how expensive swim team can be for teams as a whole, and for families.  Every year, there are always meet fees, team fees, travel, new suits, and coaches fees, so fundraising is a must-do for many teams.
