RE: Fundraising Ideas for Skilled and Motivated Skills USA members

DATE: Today and in the future, where Skills students always shine!

SkillsUSA is certainly one of the largest and most impressive student organizations; the diversity of the career and work-related programs is amazing. My father retired as the director of the local Career & Technical School and I personally had the opportunity to teach at the Career & Technical School a marketing teacher alongside many Skills USA advisors. It wasn't until I had the opportunity to exhibit with Custom Resources' fundraising division at the national Skills USA Championship conference that I realized how awesome the Skills USA student organization was and is ... Skills USA has it going on! And in a very large way! I have NEVER been so impressed as I walked the length of the Skills USA competitive work stations at the national conference. From masonry and welding to the bake-offs happening right on-site, I was a believer for life in what Skills USA offers to its members.

Chances are your school has many Skills USA members. If you do a collective fundraiser, where all the students from every program works together promoting, selling, and distributing the products together, it can be a huge success, both from a financially rewarding point of view, and collective teamwork point of view!

With the size of many local Skills USA organizations, it makes sense to capitalize on your group's size for its fundraising power! With a large motivated group, you can select from most any program because you'll easily meet any minimum requirement, and you might as well go for the largest profit breaks. When you sell more, you not only earn more becuase of the number of items sold, but you can climb the profit ladder and maximize your percent of profit per item, too.

Here are popular pre-order programs, also called brochure programs that require no upfront money to get started. These pay your group 50% profit regardless of the number of items sold!

The following brochure programs pay out based on the number of items sold.

If your Skills USA group is large, we recommend you select no more than two brochures to sell from so you can maximize the percentage of profit and sell the amount of items for free shipping if that offer is available.
