Sports: America's favorite pasttime.   I've, at one time or another, played soccer, softball, and tennis, and have been on the track team, cross-country team, and swim team. Nothing can take the place of the experiences a child gains from competing on a sports team!

For example, ask the coach to give a free day from running if everyone participates in the fundraiser, or ask the coach if s/he will do something funny if a certain goal is met!
